Lovely looking Xbox One and PC game Ori and the Blind Forest has been delayed to 2015, developer Moon Studios announced today. Previously, it was expected to launch sometime this fall.
"While we're extremely excited for all of you to get your hands on Ori and the Blind Forest as soon as possible, we made the decision together with our partners at Microsoft Studios that we'll need just a little more time in order to add a final layer of polish to--what we hope--will be an unforgettable gaming experience," the developer explained on its website.
Ori and the Blind Forest will now be released in "early 2015" across Xbox One and PC.
Moon Studios describes Ori and the Blind Forest as a "genremix," saying it's a Metroidvania-style game, but with a deeper focus on platforming and light RPG elements. You play as a forest spirit in what the developer says is a coming-of-age story influenced by The Lion King.
"Remember the first time you played Zelda or Metroid when you were a child? We hope that years from now people will also remember the first time they got to play Ori and the Blind Forest," Moon Studios says.
