Shadow Warrior Reboot on Xbox One and PS4

Shadow Warrior is a first-person shooter developed by Flying Wild Hog and published by Devolver Digital. It was released on the PC last year and it turned out to be a pretty solid reboot of the 1997 game developed by 3D Realms. GamingBolt got an opportunity to speak with Lead Engine Programmer Krzysztof Narkowicz and Michal Szustak who is the CEO and Director of  Shadow Warrior about the various technical aspects of the game.
Shadow Warrior will be making its way across the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and given that it’s already confirmed that the former will run at 1080p/60fps we asked the resolution of the Xbox One version.
“Shadow warrior is a fast paced game, so it was very important to have 60 fps. Also we didn’t want to cut any graphic features, so we decided to use 900p with 60fps,” Krzysztof  confirmed to GamingBolt.
So did they faced any challenges in getting the PS4 version up and running at 1080p? “Mainly CPU issues, as our engine didn’t scale for more than 2-4 cores. This required a change of threading architecture and many parts of the engine needed a rewrite,” Krzysztof  added.
Shadow Warrior will release on the PS4 and Xbox One this summer.

Quantum Break Coming To Xbox One In 2015

That's according to developer Remedy Entertainment's Sam Lake, who revealed fresh details about the game in a new video, and also promised we'd see more of the title at Gamescom in August.
"We are working hard to bring you an entertainment experience like no other," he said. "Quantum break will be out in 2015. I’m very excited to tell you that we’ll be presenting Quantum Break’s time-amplified action gameplay for the first time ever in August at Gamescom."
Elsewhere in the video, Lake explained how the upcoming cinematic action game would interact with the live action show that's also planned.
"The game is about heroes, the show is about villains," he revealed. "In the game you play Jack Choice in a desperate fight to stop the fracture, that threatens to cause the end of time. In the show, in the style of a modern TV series you follow the schemes and power play inside Monarch – the corporation that’s Jack’s main enemy."
So it looks like we'll have to wait that little bit longer before seeing more of Quantum Break. Thankfully, Remedy has released the below video showing off new gameplay to tide us over. Check it out below, and stick with IGN for all the latest news on the title as it surfaces.

PS4 follows Xbox One to China

Japan’s Sony is to sell and manufacture the PlayStation 4 in China, as a new joint venture allows it to follow Microsoft into one of the world’s biggest gaming markets.
The company will use two joint ventures with Chinese firms to enter the fast-growing but often difficult market in the country.
Since 2000, China has banned gaming consoles, which it says harm young people’s mental health. Console titles have been deemed inappropriate for "threatening state security, damaging the nation's glory, disturbing social order and infringing on others' legitimate rights," according to the Chinese publication Xinhua. Chinese authorities will still have broad say over the content of games.
Sony tried to enter the market in 2004, with the PlayStation 2, but withdrew because of the tought operating environment.
But China lifted the ban earlier in the year. There are more than half a billion gamers in the country — which tends to play PC, online and mobile games — and the gaming industry has generated more than $13bn.
At the end of April, Microsoft said that it would start selling its Xbox One in the country. It will work alongside home entertainment partner BesTV. Microsoft and Sony’s joint ventures will work under the relatively relaxed rules of the Shanghai Free Trade Zone – one of several 'special economic zones' in the country with greater economic freedom.
One of Sony’s joint ventures will focus on hardware, and the other will create software, it said. Details on when consoles and games begin to reach the country will be released later.
Sony is facing its sixth annual loss in seven years, as it restructures its TV and PC businesses. The PlayStation is one of few growth areas in the company and one of its best-performing divisions.
More than seven million PlayStation 4s are thought to have been sold since it was released in November 2013.

Minecraft Conquers next-gen Consoles

PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners will finally be able to play console-tailored versions of the runaway-popular sandbox gameMinecraft in just a few more months — before summer’s end, in fact.
Minecraft developer Mojang revealed that versions ofMinecraft for PS4, PS3, PS Vita and Xbox One, which it’s been prepping for some time, will all be available from their respective online stores in August. What’s more, the PS4 and Xbox One versions will arrive with “significantly bigger worlds and a greater draw distance” than the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions.
The PS4 and Xbox One editions will include all the features found in the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions and cost $20 each, or just $5 if you’re upgrading (Mojang’s giving everyone a one-year period, starting at the release date in August, to take advantage of the upgrade offer). PS3 and Xbox 360 owners will also be able to import worlds created on those platforms, but not vice versa. Cross-platform play will not be supported, and Mojang’s saying some (but not necessarily all) of any downloadable content purchased for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions will be transferable, pending licensing decisions.
Vita owners who picked up the PS3 version of Minecraft will get it free, the PS3 + Vita Edition will run $20 and saves are transferable between the PS3 and Vita edition, so you can play on the PS3, then pick up and play on the go with the Vita if you so choose.
Minecraft across all platforms is the third-bestselling video game of all time (after Tetris and Wii Sports, but before Super Mario Bros.Mario Kart Wii and more recently, Grand Theft Auto V). The game was originally released in 2009, but as word spread and versions arrived for mobile platforms like iOS and Android, it’s gone on to become the most popular indie game ever released.
