Minecraft PS4 and Xbox One release update.

Minecraft developer 4J Studios recently confirmed that the PlayStation 4 version of the game found its way back to Sony for what they expect as the final certification testing.
The information was posted in the studio's Twitter account. The post said, "#MinecraftPS4 is back with Sony for final testing. Fingers crossed..."
Last week, the Minecraft PlayStation 4 Edition had failed in its first try to acquire a certification from Sony after the gaming console maker discovered several issues with it. The developers pulled out the earlier version and worked on the said issues before sending it back once again to finally obtain the certification.
On the other hand, the Xbox One Edition of the game is still currently being worked on, and this one is way behind schedule even if it has the same feature set as the PS4 Edition. However, 4J Studios also said via Twitter that it can quickly catch on soon. The tweet reads, "Down to the last few bugs with #MinecraftXbox1 - hoping to hand it over to Microsoft by the end of the week!"
Game certifications normally last for two weeks or less before giving the go-ahead signal for it to be released in the market. If things will work out according to plan, the testing for Minecraft: PlayStation 4 Edition will not take that long since it was initially tested recently, and it will be released on Tuesday, September 2, in time for the updates of the PlayStation Store. But the worst case scenario could delay the game's release on September 9.
Minecraft: Xbox One Edition, meanwhile, could be released in time for the typical Wednesday schedule of digital releases for Xbox Live on September 10 once the testing goes smoothly.
Both Minecraft: PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 will also get a minor update to allow players to transfer worlds from the earlier version to either the Xbox One or the PlayStation 4 editions.

Peggle 2 Coming to PS4.

Formerly exclusive to the Xbox One and Xbox 360, Peggle 2 will release on the PlayStation 4 on October 14, publisher Electronic Arts has announced.
First released on Xbox platforms in November 2013, PopCap's sequel to its simple but immensely satisfying take on pachinko was one of the games available at launch for the Xbox One. EA said that it was a timed exclusive at the time, but didn't say when it will release on other platforms until now. However, EA didn't have an update on when Peggle 2 will come to PC and mobile devices.
During a conference call with investors in July, EA CEO Andrew Wilson referenced a "much-anticipated new Peggle game" for mobile that is in the testing phase. Back in May, EA launched a version of a new, free-to-play Peggle game on the iOS app store in markets like New Zealand and Singapore. It's a common for publishers to test mobile games in smaller markets before launching worldwide.

Shadow Warrior Delayed.

The developers ‘want to make sure the player experience is perfect’
Bandai Namco has announced.the Xbox One and PS4 ports of Shadow Warrior won’t be released until October.
The classic FPS  had originally been set to hit 8th gen consoles  on 26th September in Europe, with a North American release date also planned that month. Now PS4 and Xbox One will be getting Shadow Warrior on 24th October instead.
“Bringing Shadow Warrior to PS4 and XB1 has proven to be a challenge for us as we want to make sure the player experience is perfect. In play testing we have been focusing in on the controller inputs and response,” said Flying Wild Hog, the developers responsible for the Shadow Warrior reboot.

“We recognized that we needed more time to improve this as Shadow Warrior is an old school FPS and this demands perfection. Sadly this means a small delay in the release date, but Lo Wang needs to be at his best on these shiny new consoles.”
Shadow Warrior initially made a comeback last year for PC receiving largely positive reviews at the time.
Lo Wang needs a little more prep time for new gen.

"State of Decay" Brings the Zombies on Xbox One.

Xbox Live Arcade hit State of Decay is getting a significant makeover, with a remaster of the game confirmed for launch for the Xbox One and PC sometime in spring 2015.
State of Decay Year One Survival Edition will improve on the visuals of game, bundle in the two DLC releases (Lifeline and Breakdown), and introduce some new gameplay elements to the core State of Decay game. The game will also run at 1080p, compared to the 720p of the original Xbox 360 version.

"We wanted to address some of the animations, generally do a lot of polish on that, and just generally improve on the environment textures," Jeff Strain, founder of Undead Labs said.
"We're also taking some of the base management features from the Lifeline DLC and integrating that into the core game, and also taking some of the heroes and characters that were introduced and allowing them to be playable characters from Lifeline and Breakdown as well. And we're going to be bundling Lifeline and Breakdown as well. So this will be the definitive edition of State of Decay." Undead Labs has confirmed that Lifeline characters like Major Alicia Hawkes, Sergeant Kilohana "Kilo" Young, Private Royell "Vince" Vincent, and Sergeant Kelly "Sasquatch" Eldridge will be Lifeline characters that will be brought over to the main State of Decay game.
Strain also gave some cryptic clues about the future of the State of Decay franchise, hinting more was to come. "This is the first next-gen step for the State of Decay franchise. Obviously we have big plans for this franchise going forward into the future, and getting it here gets us to the baseline we need to be to start pursuing that."
State of Decay Year One Survival Edition will be released in spring 2015 digitally on the Xbox One and Steam, as well as a boxed retail version for the Xbox One.

Triple Action with Free Games on Xbox One and Xbox 360 Coming this September.

Xbox One owners have a lot to look forward to this fall, from a healthy supply of third-party releases to some huge console exclusives, but the one title that loyal Xbox fans can’t wait to pick up is Halo: The Master Chief Collection. With over 100 multiplayer maps and four complete campaigns, the collection is going to be one of the best deals of the holiday season, but the package doesn’t contain everything. That’s where next month’s Games with Gold comes in.
alt text

During the month of September, Microsoft is only offering three free games to Xbox Live Gold subscribers, but they’re all incredibly. Xbox 360 owners are going to get Monaco: What’s Yours is Mine, a top-down stealth game, and Halo: Reach, one of the Halo games that didn’t make the collection. If you’re looking to catch back up with the Halo series before The Master Chief Collection launches in November, Halo: Reach is actually a prequel to the main story of the series. Next month, you’ll be able to get it for free.
The free Xbox One game of September isn’t a triple-A title, but it is one of the most fun indie games to be released in the past year. Super Time Force is a side-scrolling shooter with a twist: every time you die, your ghost will fight alongside you when you respawn. This is the best offering for the Xbox One yet out of Games with Gold — don’t miss it.
Super Time Force will be available for the entire month, but if you want Monaco, you’ll need to download it between September 1st – 15th. Halo: Reach will then take its place from September 16th – 30th.

Xbox One system update rolling out now.

alt textXbox One's September update is rolling out a few days early. The system update, which introduces a new media player app for Microsoft's current-generation console, is going out to console owners over the next few days.
Microsoft began testing the latest update earlier this month. In addition to the new media player app, which will support formats like MKV, animated GIFs and DNLA by the end of the year, the system update adds new party features, new SmartGlass features, the option to boot directly to TV and more.
Here's the full list of changes, from Microsoft.
  • A new Media Player app: Play media files from an attached USB device or a network connected home media server with the new media player app - DNLA support coming soon. Xbox One will support more formats than Xbox 360, including support for dozens of new file formats like Mpeg 2 TS, animated gifs and MKV, which will be added by the end of the year.
  • Party on in the new and improved Party App: Be the leader of your party with the new party leader setting. As the party leader, you can change whether the party requires invitations and you can remove others from the party. The updated app also lets you see what activities everyone in your party is doing and who is playing in the same game with you in addition to being able to quickly perform common actions like muting, joining, or sending game invites.
  • New features for SmartGlass: You can now post status messages from the Activity Feed and comments, or share items from both your Activity Feed and Game Clips. Along with the new comment and share features, a personalized Activity Feed has been added to your profile and messages have been updated to a new layout supporting a full conversation view. Additionally, we are adding the ability to record game clips directly from the Now Playing bar. Finally, for users who upgrade the app directly, we have introduced a What's New page highlighting the features of each release.
  • "Xbox On" capabilities in Australia, Canada (French), Italy, Spain, and Mexico: New regions will have the ability to use the "Xbox On" Kinect voice command to power on their consoles when they're in connected standby (Instant On) mode.
  • Boot to TV: Now Xbox One owners will be able to set their console to boot directly to television when coming out of connected standby.
  • Bandwidth Usage Display: Bandwidth Usage will show users how much bandwidth their Xbox One is consuming over a period of time, a useful tool for those who want to track against bandwidth caps set by ISPs in certain markets.
  • GameDVR deletes: Users will be able to choose multiple GameDVR clips to delete at once in the Upload app.
  • Save your Avatar Gamerpic: A new option to save Avatar Gamerpics to users' OneDrive.

Assassin's Creed Unity Delayed.

Assassin's Creed Unity, the current-generation entry in Ubisoft's open-world action series, has been delayed from Oct. 28 to Nov. 11, the publisher announced today. Ubisoft said the extra two weeks will allow the development team to add a bit more polish to the game.

"This being a fully next-gen game, it requires a lot of work, a lot of production, and a lot of learning," said senior producer Vincent Pontbriand. "It's always hard to be precise and to quantify exactly how much work is involved. So as we get close to the finish we often realize we're near the target but we're not quite there yet."
The game will come to Europe, Middle East and Africa territories on Nov. 13.
Assassin's Creed Unity is bound for PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One.

A Standalone Xbox One Kinect Will Be Launched October 7.

alt text

Microsoft will start selling standalone Kinect cameras for Xbox One on October 7, the company announced today in a post on the Xbox Wire. It will cost $150, but you get more than just the camera. The bundle also comes with a digital copy of Dance Central Spotlight.
There was no mention of an Xbox One Kinect standalone unit that will be available without Dance Central Spotlight. That game launches next month and will sell for $10. The standalone Kinect camera for Xbox One will be available at retailers across the country.
Microsoft also took time today to reaffirm its commitment to Kinect, after some questioned whether the device was important to the company following the introduction of the Kinect-free Xbox One bundle in June. Today, Microsoft writes that "Xbox One is better with Kinect," adding that your games, TV, and entertainment usage on the console "come alive" when using the camera.
The company also revealed a trend that might surprise you. According to Microsoft, since the $400 Xbox One launched in June, the company has seen "increased demand" for the $500 Xbox One bundle that comes with Kinect.
In June, Xbox boss Phil Spencer said making Kinect optional for Xbox One would lead to greater sales for the camera in the long run. This is because, he argues, people will buy an Xbox One without Kinect and later realize they are missing out, and will eventually buy one.
