The games giant warned ahead of the Tuesday release that there would be teething problems with online aspects to the game, and also asked for fans to deliver as much feedback as possible on ongoing problems with the title.
GTA bosses had also promised characters created on the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of GTA 5 could be transferred to the next-gen consoles, but some users have contacted Rockstar Support today reporting troubles with the process.
One fan asking for help on the Rockstar support page wrote: "I haven’t played GTA Online since 2013. When I try to transfer to PS4 or Xbox One, it says 'No previous Grand theft Auto Online data is associated with your Social Club account.'"
"I then tried to go back and play GTA Online on PS3 or Xbox 360 to verify, but it says the Rockstar services are unavailable. Help!
Rockstar explained they were busily looking into the issue and were hoping to report back with new information soon.
"We are urgently looking into an issue preventing character transfer and GTA Online login on accounts that haven’t played GTA Online since 2013," the post read.
