EA Access: Play EA's Games with Subscription.

The Xbox One is to get a PlayStation Plus style download service from EA, as the publisher tries to create Netflix for games.
According to EA the service allows you to play ‘more games for less’ as you ‘binge on EA’s best Xbox One games’, starting with Madden NFL 25, FIFA 14, Battlefield 4, and Peggle 2 during the beta period.
More games are promised once the service starts for real, and it’s implied it will include brand new titles. Subscribers will be able to access EA games five days before their release date and play them ‘for at least two hours’ before they’re officially available, with the likes of FIFA 15 and Dragon Age Inquisition specifically mentioned by name.
Subscribers will also get 10 per cent off digitally downloaded retail games on Xbox One. Which if you know download prices still doesn’t mean very cheap.
The beta version of the service begins today, and you can already sign-up here for £3.99($4.99 in America). We don’t see a yearly fee yet (it’s $29.99 in America) but for 12 months that works out as £47.88.
Why all of this is only on Xbox One is unclear, but although Microsoft and EA have been as thick as thieves since the console’s launch it may have more to do with Sony’s PlayStation Plus service – to which EA Access is essentially the EA equivalent.
