Evolve's Alpha Available on PS4.

Evolve's Big Alpha is now available on PlayStation 4, according to the game's official Twitter account.

Additionally, the Big Alpha, which was supposed to end today, is extending testing on all platforms until November 4, 12 p.m. Pacific Time.

"Alpha tests analyze and troubleshoot unfinished products," 2K said in a statement. "While internal testing shows the majority of PS4 matches are completed successfully, some players will encounter interruptions and issues affecting the Evolve experience. We ask for your patience and participation as we rigorously test Evolve to ensure a successful launch on February 10, 2015."

After hitting Xbox One first on October 30, Evolve was supposed to launch on PC and PlayStation 4 on Friday, but has been delayed on the latter due to network difficulties.

In case you missed the news yesterday, if want to play the Big Alpha but don't have a code, you can still download and play the game if you own a copy of XCOM: Enemy Unknown on Steam. Just check your Steam library and it should be there.

To find out what the Big Alpha includes and if your PC can run it, check out developer Turtle Rock Studios' announcement from last week.

In Evolve, four players fight together to take down a fifth player, who takes on the role of a monster with unique (and deadly) attributes. The game was originally targeted to launch this year, but was delayed to February 10, 2015. Turtle Rock previously created the Left 4 Dead series.

Download Issues with Some of the Copies of Xbox One Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare's release today (through the Day Zero edition) did not go entirely smoothly. Some users are reporting problems downloading their pre-ordered copies of the game. This issue has been fixed for most people, but if you are still encountering trouble, Microsoft advises that you delete the game and redownload it. Not ideal, for sure, but it's at least a fix.

"We've received reports that some users are having issues getting their preordered copy of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare," Microsoft said on its Xbox Live support page today. "We're happy to say that our team has fixed the problem, but if you are still experiencing any issues, delete the game and redownload it. Thanks for your patience while we got this issue worked out. Have fun!"

You can download Advanced Warfare today on Xbox One (even if you didn't preorder) through the Day Zero edition. If you buy the game today, you'll even get double XP all day long. The game officially launches tomorrow, November 4, for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC.

Sony Reported a Loss of $1.2 Billion Dollars while PS4 Counts 12.3 Million Units sold.

Sony has released its financials for the three months covering July to September, and while Sony posted a loss of $1.2 billion dollars for the quarter, as far as the company's projections are concerned, that's actually good news. The loss represents less-than-expected numbers for the consumer electronics giant and the PS4 was a strong performer for Sony, beating expectations.

Sony revealed it shipped 3.3 million PlayStation 4 consoles during the period. This combined with over 800,000 PS3 consoles being sold in the same period helped the company's game division revenues to rise 84 percent year-on-year. Unfortunately, it's not all good news for Sony's gaming offerings. The handheld division -- comprising combined sales of Vitas, PSPs and PlayStation TVs -- just hit the 700,000 mark, which is 100,000 down on the same period last year.

With the additional 3.3 million PS4s sold in the second quarter, this brings PS4 total lifetime sales to 12.3 million units. That number is just over twice that of Microsoft's Xbox One which has sold 6.1 million units. In fact, the PS4 has already broken even, despite being just shy of a year since its release, something that it took the PS3 4 years to achieve.

The biggest earner for Sony was its image sensor used in iPhones and many other Chinese-made phones. However, Sony's own smartphone division saw a cut in its sales forecast to 41 million units from a previous forecast of 43 million.

Despite the games division's ¥309.5 billion ($2.77 billion) revenue, an 83 percent rise on last year's ¥4.2 billion operating loss, and the fact this was converted into a ¥21.8 billion operating profit ($195.5 million), the company as a whole fared less well.

Sony made a loss of ¥136 billion ($1.22 billion) for the quarter and predicts net losses of ¥230 billion for the end of the financial year, even though the game division looks set to rake in an additional ¥50 billion in revenue compared to earlier estimates.

News of the less-than-expected losses buoyed Sony's stock price 0.8% higher than it was previous to the earnings report.

PS4 is Missing out on Evolve 'Big Alpha'.

The "Big Alpha" event for Evolve is still inaccessible to PlayStation 4 users because of a firmware update on that console, publisher 2K Games said, though it, developer Turtle Rock Studios and PlayStation are still working to find a solution.

Additionally, Evolve's official Twitter account acknowledged matchmaking issues on PC and is working on a solution for them.

2K Games reiterated its earlier guarantee of Big Alpha access to Evolve for PlayStation 4 owners who also have an Xbox One or Windows PC. They can get in with the Registration Code 05379-29749-32069, and the referral code EvolveBigAlpha4v1 by going to this link.

Also, any PC gamer with a copy of XCOM: Enemy Unknown on Steam also has instant access to Evolve's alpha. The game is listed in their library and available for installation.

The PlayStation 4 2.00 firmware update that deployed this week has caused problems with other functions on the console, from the new YouTube video-sharing functionality, to access to the beleaguered DriveClub, and in some cases an inability to boot the console from the reconfigured "rest mode."

The Xbox One for the First Time is Cheaper than PS4.

Microsoft is giving consumers another reason to buy Xbox One console by slashing $50 off the regular price.

"Fans don't have to wait for Black Friday this year to enjoy great savings on Xbox One. We're offering our best price yet, with unprecedented choices and value, so more people can play on Xbox One this holiday," said Yusuf Mehdi, corporate vice president, Microsoft.

"We're gearing up for one of our biggest holidays ever and we are thrilled to offer fans up to $150 in savings on Xbox One and some of the biggest blockbuster games of the season,"he added.

Xbox One consoles will be priced at $349 beginning Nov. 2, and the promo will run for a limited period of time.

The price cut is also applicable to special edition bundles such as Assassin's Creed Unity, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Sunset Overdrive.

This is also going to be the first time that the relatively more expensive Xbox One will be sold cheaper vs Sony's PS4, which retails for $399.99.

PS4 offers Destiny Bundle for $449.99.

Back in August, Sony has cemented its dominion over the console gaming industry when it announced that PlayStation 4 has officially sold more than 10 million units worldwide.

Apart from a huge gaming library that has sold more than 30 million games, PS4 has continuously integrated efforts to enhance its network to offer more innovative entertainment experience to consumers.

Meanwhile, Xbox has been relatively successful with its latest game releases.

Forza 2 and Sunset Overdrive have received impressive reviews from the gaming community and tech pundits alike.

"Paranormal Platformer" Extreme Exorcism going to be Released on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC in 2015

Indie developer Golden Ruby Games and publisher Ripstone today announced that "paranormal platformer" Extreme Exorcism will be released on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC in 2015. Previously, the game was confirmed only for PC.

The announcement today, on Halloween, is fitting, given the game's subject material. Haven't heard of Extreme Exorcism? It's a platformer where "all of your actions will come back to haunt you..."

You play the role of an "extreme exorcist" named MaeBarrons. Her tactics are somewhat unorthodox ("holy water and a Bible just won't cut it with these ghosts"), so she uses a heavy-powered arsenal of swords, guns, grenades, mines, rocket launchers, and weaponized boomerangs.

She can also use lightning spells and Kung-Fu moves.

The main hook in Extreme Exorcism is that every time you kill a ghost, another appears that copies your every move. "So tread carefully, or prepare to reap what you sow. The longer you survive, the more extreme the game becomes."

Here are the basics about Extreme Exorcism, courtesy of Golden Ruby Games:

  • Story mode covers the ten areas of the haunted mansion culminating in a boss fight
  • Comprehensive local multiplayer: non-stop ghost annihilation for up to 4 players
  • Story mode playable both co-operatively and solo
  • Customizable death match mode--change the weapon set, how ghosts spawn, and the abilities they possess
  • Online leaderboards allow youto compare your scores with the wider world
  • Challenge mode: specific rulesetups that encourage extreme play.
